He came west out of the far East a long time ago and stopped walking there. He had me set down everything I was carrying on the rock -- and then everything I was carrying that was not in my hands, which took considerably longer -- and gave me a plain cord with nothing hung on it. A hand that is already full, he says, cannot be used for anything else. He will not say what happens then. | 3 | final | At the fifteenth level I came up the peak and held the stone out without mentioning it, and Orovan said that was the correct way to return it. He set it flush into the haft of a kama that had apparently been lying on the rock behind me since the first day, where the hand will never feel it, and handed it over on the grounds that it was now the least interesting thing about me. I have kept the first of the empty hand.
