| 1 | Halmir the Grey, keeper of the rolls of the old orders, has named the Divine Champions' vigil. In the temple of Minas Tirith stands the Altar of the Istari, its stone polished by the hands of the faithful. I am to keep the vigil there as the order keeps it -- a shield borne on my arm, for the champion's vow is not to strike harder but to stand between. A bare arm, or a second blade where the shield should ride, earns nothing from the altar. The oath-light the vigil kindles must go back to Halmir at the Well of Eru. | q_dvc_start | |
