A plain sword-belt of Gondorian make, its buckle a disc of pale steel worn smooth by generations of scarred hands. The training yards of Minas Tirith buckle it on those whose blade needs no second: one weapon, chosen and kept, until dodging, feinting and striking with it are one thought. Halmir the Grey gave it over when the notch of the proving post was laid in his hand -- the token of those the orders call Weapon Masters, whose rolls are short because most hands want too many things.
