A dwarf-forged warhelm of grey steel, unadorned but for a single band of granite set above the brow -- cut, the smiths say, from stone that would not break. The Defenders of Khazad-dum wore its like on the doors and bridges of the deep places, where the line is the wall and the wall does not step back. Halmir the Grey gave it over when the Shard of the Unbroken Stone was laid in his hand -- the token of those the orders call Dwarven Defenders, whose page is cut deep in his roll, the way Durin's folk cut what they mean to keep.
